Easy local events

Used the Parent Playground app to find local family events. It was quick and easy. Found a great park day. Simple to use. No issues with the app. Liked the Event Listings. Very helpful.

Superstar Rewards worth it

I signed up for the Superstar Rewards Membership about a month ago, and overall, it's been a solid experience. Ordering was straightforward through the app's billing section; no hiccups there. I immediately got access to the premium features, like the advanced search in the local family directory. The community forums are pretty active, and I've found some useful tips. I did have a question about setting up my Premium Profile and used the in-app support chat; they responded within a few hours and were helpful. The quality of the local business listings seems good, with actual reviews from other parents. Usability of the app is intuitive, though sometimes switching between the different directories can feel a little slow on my older phone. Definitely helps connect with other parents in my area, which was my main goal.

Good for connecting, minor app issue

I got the Mobile App Subscription to try out the Parent Social Network Access. It's been really good for finding other parents for playdates, especially with the Family Activity Tracker feature. I liked that the Event Listings for Families were updated often. However, the app sometimes crashes when I try to upload photos to a community forum post, which is a bit annoying. Customer service was quick when I reported it, saying they're working on a fix. Value-wise, it's decent for the price considering how much I use the local directory.

Good value for annual plan

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for the best deal. I got the annual subscription for the Mobile App Subscription and thought it was a pretty good price compared to paying monthly. The Family Discount Network Access has already saved me a few bucks at local places, so it's paying for itself. It felt like a worthwhile purchase, especially with the Exclusive Partner Perks available. I'm always checking for more savings through the app.

Found some cool stuff

Just got the Parent Playground app a little while ago. I mostly used it for the Local Family Directory and to see what other parents were talking about in the Community Forums. It's pretty chill. Found a pretty neat local bakery through the business directory. No big drama or anything, just worked as expected.

Is it easy to cancel the subscription if I decide it's not for me? Don't want to get stuck in something.

J James Nelson 2 days ago
Super easy. Just go into the app settings, there's a clear 'cancel subscription' option. Did it once when I was testing it out, no issues.

Yeah, I think it's pretty straightforward, just make sure to do it before your next billing cycle starts if you're on a monthly plan.

Any promo codes floating around for the Superstar Rewards? Trying to sign up and save a few bucks.

A Adam 1 week ago
Usually, the best bet is a referral code from someone who already uses it. That's how I got my discount.

I've seen some come up around back-to-school season or like Mother's Day, but they're pretty rare outside of the referral stuff. Check social media maybe?

Can you actually find playdates through this app? Or is it mostly just events and businesses?

K Karen R. 3 weeks ago
Definitely! That's one of the main things I use it for. You can connect with other parents and message them directly. Found a few great playdate buddies for my kid.

I think it depends on how active your specific local community is on it, but yeah, that's what the social network part is for. Just like other apps where you connect with people.

Is the Superstar Rewards membership actually worth it, or should I just stick with the free version?

P Patricia 5 days ago
I got it for the annual discount, seemed like a good deal. Plus the exclusive webinars are pretty solid.

Depends what you're looking for. The free version does a lot already. I'd say try the free trial first if you can get one, see if you use it enough.

Thinking of getting the premium membership, but I saw something about a family plan discount? How do you get that?

M Mary Nguyen 1 week ago
Yeah, I think they have one. Maybe it's tied to the annual subscription or specific times of the year? Check the app's billing section, it usually shows up there if it's available.

My friend got one by just emailing support, said they offered it after she asked about it. Worth a shot!

How does this compare to Peanut or Mush? I'm on both of those but looking for something a bit more local.

W William Robinson 3 weeks ago
Parent Playground definitely feels more local focused. The event listings and business directory are way better for finding stuff in your actual neighborhood than Peanut, in my experience.

It's like a mix of Nextdoor for parents and a bit of Meetup. Way less spammy than Facebook groups for sure. I'd say it beats Mush if you want more than just mom meetups.
